  2. My imaginary friend is the Overnightscape.

    The Baz Luhrmann Great Gatsby movie sounds even more obnoxious than I thought it might be. Thanks for confirming that I made the right choice to avoid it. I don’t feel directors need to be strictly true to a novel but when the tone of a movie is so far afield you wonder why they even chose the book other than to exploit it’s name recognition.
    I imagine the 1920’s to have been a quite fascinating and wild time and I feel when you feel the need to put hip hop and ultra glitz and hyper colors onto it you are suggesting the present is always somehow wilder and more exciting.

    I am so looking forward to seeing Nebraska. I look forward to the mid-western authenticity you mentioned.
