I totally forgot about the Fotomat! It’s amazing how something so pervasive in our culture can be completely wiped from the collective memory. I’m going to start hunting for Fotomats as well.

I’m still one of the ones who believes that the next decade does not start until January 1, 2011. They follow the centuries & millennia. ;^)

Decades are informal. They are not a way of counting time since Year One. “The Eighties” is from 1980 to 1989. 1990 is not, and should not, be part of the “The Eighties”. “The Twentyteens” is from 2010 to 2019. However, if you wanted to say “The 202nd Decade”, that would be from 2011 to 2020. But for whatever reason, we do not use that numbering system for decades. We just use the informal system.
