One Response to “Hey Everybody, it’s Jimbo! – 162 Tornado (4/6/17)”
  1. Shambles says:

I understand what you’re saying, Jimbo, I really do. What I’m trying to do here is capture the sounds of a specific place and time. I’m not trying to record just one specific sound and nothing else; I want the other sounds along with it that are unique to that moment in time. That’s what’s fascinating to me about this process, because I knew there would probably be voices and incidental sounds from other balconies that I would pick up but I didn’t know when they would happen. And actually I kind of like the wind effect on this particular recording because it’s minimal and only comes up about a second at a time. It makes me think of the process of recording as well as what I was recording. Believe me, if it had been picked up continuously I would never have released this.

I appreciate your point of view and I’m not mad. I may just be coming from a different place on this particular issue.
