Tape Land 82 – Obliviana Wander Radio Thoughts (3/3/02)

36:50 – Welcome to Tape Land! On each episode, I’ll present the audio of a cassette tape from my collection. It’s a way to help motivate me to digitize more of my archives.

I made this tape driving home in the middle of the night after one of the NAVA video game collectors meetings at Video Game Connections in Howell, NJ. I recorded “Classictronica: Arcade Memories (3/2/02)” at that meeting (available in Onsug). On the drive, I’m talking my ideas for “Obliviana Wander Radio”, an early concept of what would eventually become Onsug. A lot of my ideas here are based on technological limitations in 2002 that no longer exist.

Notes: 3/3/02, 2:37 AM, driving in the rain up Route 9 North, Obliviana Wander Radio, history of recorded audio entertainment, Bluffcosm, Internet radio, RealPlayer, audio streaming difficulties, detour, lost, iFilm, toll, downloading vs. streaming, file management, CD-R, the “Wander Radio” concept, the interactive factor, intelligent playlists, audio computer games, 65-hour CDs, 100% cool.
