Topics include equipment check, ”Henry Winkler and Fonzie”, jackhammer outside my bedroom window, the cat’s meow, flat tires, a trip to the Briary to pick up some cigars, road work that leads to about a one hour detour, Super Listening, Chadcast, “I just put the ketchup on the last burrito!”, Frank Nora and the Overnightscape, Occupy Wall Street, vacation follies, Wal-Mart shopping, beer buying, hobo chicken, Evil Dead, a nice morning stroll around the camp ground, a final cigar, a return to civilization and responsibility, and being solicited crack at the country filling station.

Selections from a public reading of a narrative feature film, “The Miracle Man,” based on the true and incredibly uplifting story of Morris E. Goodman. Presented at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Montclair, NJ by the UU Montclair Theatre Group. (And hey, Frank was there! Thanks, Frank!)

Morris Goodman was a successful insurance salesman. So successful, he bought himself his own airplane. On March 10, 1981, his during first solo flight in his new craft, the engine stopped, and he crashed the plane, crushing his spine, leaving him unable to walk, talk, swallow, breathe or move any part of his body except for his eyes. His doctors believed he would live a short, meaningless life, if he survived at all.

Morris had different plans…

What Morris had was his mind, and his faith that one day he would walk out on his own two feet, and make a full recovery, no matter what his doctors told him. Using the same step-by-step, goal-oriented approach he took in his career, Morris began to calculate the steps he needed to make toward recovery. He set a goal to be home by Christmas of that same year. He succeeded before Thanksgiving, just eight months after the accident…

These are 9 tracks testifying together about the way Bucharest is and feels like today. The album, simply called ONE, marks Eusebio’s debut and it doesn’t just play the capital’s soundscape. Its purpose is to make you feel like you are taking a walk through it: full blown human chaos with sound chaos and traffic chaos for the middle of the day and deep, deep clam punctuated by a vagrant dog or car for the middle of the night. The album contains reworked night time street ambient recordings and for any of the song there is a corresponding particular state of mind or moment in time.

It took Eusebio a full year to finish ONE, a full year of fine tuning to achieve minute details that you are aware of after two or three listening sessions. The more sessions, the more details. Synths, flutes, guitars, drums and drum effects and drum machines plus traffic signs turned drum kits, plates and glasses turned to chimes and bells, and above all these, the mighty PC, used as a recording, editing and mixing tool. Part of the songs are produced by Waar, Eusebio wingman in the High Jet project, an electronica extravaganza endeavor, a musical fresh mint designed to refresh you.

A true example of that is my friend Jen Ponton, a most talented actress whose recent cameo/debut on NBC’s “30 Rock” just aired, including a scene that is destined to be one of the series’ most memorable moments.
