The Night Pool #13 (4/14/15)

3:57:45 – Take a deep dive into The Overnightscape Underground (Onsug) Archive…

Onsug is a massive collection of audio – currently over 6,200 tracks, totaling over 251 days (over 8 months) of audio. But what’s in the archive? What does it sound like?

I chopped each audio track into 5-minute clips, resulting in over 75,000 of these segments. By playing them in random order, we can deeply explore what’s inside the archive, to get an idea of what it contains.

The Night Pool is just like drifting though all these random thoughts and ideas, soundscapes and songs, conversations and rants… no hosting, no context… just a pleasant swim though the humble weirdness of Onsug…

The Frank Nora Time Machine (hosted by Jimbo) 003

(54:05) – Welcome to The Frank Nora Time Machine (hosted by Jimbo)

Laugh along with Jimbo as he treats us to the best all-time bits of Frank Nora. Some of these bits last seconds, some a few minutes… but none of them last 275 days – (roughly the time it would take someone to listen to every Frank Nora story.)

Frank has fascinating stories, commutes and works in a great city, enjoys odd snacks; meanwhile that crazy Jimbo character adds some of his own comments and will pull a rabbit out his wide-brimmed hat at times.

Introduction, FROM The Overnightscape #8 (5/1/03): bad directions, thunder/v.Vic & Sade thunder, knowing nothing about cigars/v.Mr. Chinbunny, Romance Emporium thief, Flopsey the Giraffe, killing G.I. Joe, RIAA haxx Kazaa/Trouble, getting high with scorpions

FROM The Overnightscape #9 (5/8/03): stuff going down at work/v.boss at Plant #14, d.j.’s/Rockit, waiting for the bus/v.invention, police boat mating season, late bus problems

FROM The Overnightscape #10 (5/15/03): insane, Columbian bag/v.Vic, lost job, getting a cigar/v.cigar, a bathroom and a map and a dentist’s office/v.Dr. Keevey

FROM The Overnightscape #11 (5/22/03): really bad haircut, German fan mail, Jimbo’s most embarrassing moment, polar bear and VCR joke, German fan mail poem, Frank sort of says goodbye, [bonus ay-yi-yi’s], ”Frito Bandito”

all music by Jimbo (c) 2015, except ”Trouble” by Lindsey Buckingham and ”Rockit” by Herbie Hancock and “Frito Bandito” by Frito Lay
