31:52 – Welcome to Tape Land! On each episode, I will be presenting the audio of a cassette tape from my collection. It’s a way to help motivate me to digitize more of my archives.

Another great find! I played an 8-minute edited version of this on The Overnightscape #55. But the whole thing is well worth listening to (especially Peter playing Shenmue on Dreamcast). I guess back then I wasn’t into the rambling, longform stuff as much.

On this tape I’m in NYC in 2001, and I’m recording just a kind of personal journal. At the time, I wasn’t planning on releasing it. But it’s striking how similar it is to The Overnightscape of today… walking around the Port Authority Bus Terminal and 42nd Street… yet it’s such a different world, 2001… two years before The Overnightscape began…
