Tape Land 66 – T-5 (1978-1982)

1:32:24 – Welcome to Tape Land! On each episode, I will be presenting the audio of a cassette tape from my collection. It’s a way to help motivate me to digitize more of my archives.

I got my own tape recorder for my tenth birthday in 1977. I recorded a set of tapes, labeled them T-1, T-2, etc. This is T-5.

At the very end of the tape, I give the date, Monday, November 20, 1978. But back then, I would dub over parts of the tape later for various reasons. For example, the “Sneak Previews” I taped off TV is from 1982.

I released a short edited version of this tape in Bluffcosm many years ago, as “T5”.

Notes: Playing a record on my grandparent’s Edison Phonograph (“On Yonder Rock Reclining, Fra Diavolo, Auber, Soprano and Tenor Orchestra Accompaniment”) – with a brief conversation overdubbed in the middle, brief clip of a Star Wars record, Frank introduces “The Danse Macabre”, more of the Star Wars record, Frank skits (Miss Checkerboard’s Story, Guest Star: Beethhoven), Micronauts TV commercial, public library PSA, Hanna–Barbera’s World of Super Adventure, The Impossibles – with Frank’s scavanger hunt clue in the middle, The Frank Nora Show, Mellie and Doodoohoe, Frankenstein Jr., The Impossibles, Battle of the Planets, TI-99/4A data, Sneak Previews with Siskel & Ebert (The Secret of NIMH/The Devil’s Playground/Gregory’s Girl/Tron), Space Academy (“The Rocks of Janus”), Gilligan’s Island (“The Kidnapper”), Frank’s Gilligan’s Island annoucement, Frank introduces “The World of Music Boxes”, Frank talks about the other tapes.
