  1. IMO you should focus on the Pep Club stuff – you have found the magic bullet there. It sounds unique and it stopped me in my tracks.

  2. PQ thanks for the Brian Eno tips. Starting the Another Green World interview now.

Regarding the field recordings. I got a ZOOM H5 for field recording a couple years ago. I have enjoyed making some recordings, if for no other reason that it makes me tune in more. I have wanted to do something similar to what you described planning to do with the field recordings you found on the archive. I never get around to it because I’ve been frustrated with Audacity roadblocks in the past. I don’t have experience using audio software other than fooling around on Audacity. I would have to learn a lot more to use it efficiently. Do you have any suggestion for a simpler editing tool.

If you are reading this Jimbo and have any suggestions on that matter please do.

  3. Happy to help out, Nate, thanks for asking.

What you ask is not a simple question and can’t be answered easily. What I CAN offer is to produce your material for you if you wish. You would have to offer some suggestions and I could ‘play it by ear’, as they say. Feel free to holler if you need me.

  6. PQ. I was barely into this episode when I commented above. I think these Pep Club tracks are very cool. Although I have heard a couple examples of using field recordings almost as instruments, in both cases the source material was distorted so much you couldn’t recognize it. I like your approach better. Leaving most of the sounds identifiable. I’ve imagined something like this for a few decades.
