The Frank Nora Time Machine – Hosted by Jimbo – (4/29/15) 009

(46:58) – Welcome to The Frank Nora Time Machine (Hosted by Jimbo)

Get ready to hear some of the best all-time bits of Frank Edward Nora. Some of the bits here last seconds, some a few minutes… but none of them last 263 days – (roughly the time it would take someone to listen to every Frank Nora story.)

Frank has fascinating stories, commutes and works in a great city, reviews malls, odd snacks and drinks. Jimbo adds his own two cents in wacky ways, and together, they make this series one of the most unique you have ever heard.

• Introduction, from The Overnightscape #34 (10/30/03) “Yolurtz, the Mike of guitars” & telephone’s ringin’, Spike TV, Matrix 2: a rotten film, best song ever!

• From The Overnightscape #35 (11/6/03) #209 – Andy Rooney – and pi, ‘naked’ T-shirts, hedonism in moderation

• From The Overnightscape #36 (11/13/03) nada…

• From The Overnightscape #37 (11/20/03) injured ligaments and walking slowly in Burritoville, ghost world on Route 21, ghost plastic, patching out

all music by Jimbo 2015, except “Everything Counts” by Depeche Mode / “Vic and Sade” written by Paul Rhymer

The Night Pool #15 (4/28/15)

3:55:47 – Take a deep dive into The Overnightscape Underground (Onsug) Archive…

Onsug is a massive collection of audio – currently over 6,400 tracks, totaling over 263 days (over 8.5 months) of audio. But what’s in the archive? What does it sound like?

I chopped each audio track into 5-minute clips, resulting in over 75,000 of these segments. By playing them in random order, we can deeply explore what’s inside the archive, to get an idea of what it contains.

The Night Pool is just like drifting though all these random thoughts and ideas, soundscapes and songs, conversations and rants… no hosting, no context… just a pleasant swim though the humble weirdness of Onsug…

GunkCast 34: Technology Creeps & Roadshow 2 (April 2015)

37:59 – We are back with our long awaited 1st show of 2015! This time Byron starts off on the streets of Chicago going on a bit of a rant on the current era of technology, but then does a 180 & takes a surprise road journey South (& for the 2nd time in the history of the podcast). He just can’t shake the overarching technology theme here as it seems to take on a mind of it’s own & follow him all the while! As you can expect, Byron kept his recorder rolling for the whole adventure which is presented here for your audio pleasure.

Also listen for another rocking soundtrack featuring a Curmudgeon classic & a new Gunk U.K. tune which Byron debuts in a special exclusive in-studio performance (a hint that you should stick around to the very end of this one)! What more can you ask for in a show? Cheers!

Note: As promised in this episode, I am including this link (http://yedies.blogspot.com/2013/11/the-mouse-goes-rfid.html)  for some further interesting info on something we encountered on our journey… which also should further your own technology creeps! Thanks again for tuning in!
