Mike listened to podcasts in the early days of the new media’s life, but didn’t find the things he wanted in it. Until he heard The Overnightscape Underground, here was the thing he was looking for, and by finding that thing, he found a community.
Late-night rambles on multiple topics were definitely in his wheelhouse; things were just getting interactive at this time online, and Mike thought this was the time to launch The Midnight Citizen.
Since 2010 and now at 300 episodes, Mike has pushed forth into the cool night air a legacy of monology that is uncompromised. As the citizen finally goes to bed, you are welcome to check out the next chapter in the person’s life.
Long live The Midnight Citizen, he’s not dead, just as always, taking a long-deserved break.

Ted Ganchiff decided in the late 90’s to take the road less travelled with a site called Give Me Talk!, making everyone a talk show host of their own program with audio on the internet.
To say Give Me Talk was ahead of it’s time would be an understatement, it was a concept that would come to be but not under his direction.
Give Me Talk was an inspired idea that had great promise, but at the wrong time in history. If only he would have let that server run for a bit longer, we might be calling him the Podfather rather than someone else.

Chad Bowers has taken the road less traveled on his lifelong journey to find interesting things to do and survive on. He has sold cell phones and ended up creating a website, he’s directed anime films and found love, he’s worked in terrestrial radio and found the internet. All these things have added up to a wild and interesting career of internet oddities.
Chad was working in terrestrial radio when he fell into the task of making a website for the station during the Geocities era of internet content. This foray into creating something new and different made an impact on him.
Selling cell phones though was probably the most creative job he could have had at the time, even though saying it doesn’t seem right. It was through cell phone sales that he came up with his personal brand of internet strangeness, TITFOS, or The Incredible True Facts of Space. This houses his worse fears and craziest desires and has outlasted many others to be a definite stop for the world-weary and tormented internet traveler.

James O’Brien has worn many hats, but I think his best one is independent media producer. He embodies the passion and drive that anyone who wants to produce their own media should look up to.
Starting with Rant Radio, most likely the first 24/7 independent streaming radio station back in January 1999, onto Rant TV which did the same for video in 2003. His projects and passions for internet media were fierce and incredibly independent.
As James has moved through his hobby of creating media, it has led to a kind of dream gig as an independent filmmaker, where he still explores the world for projects that fit his interests.

PQ Ribber has a long history of creative merry-making, from audio to art, books to bands, PQ has given a creative spin to whatever interests him.
Having roots on “real” (terrestrial) radio, PQ takes that knowledge and puts it to good use on The Overnightscape Central each week, as he shepherds the listener through various other voices as they expound on the topic du jour.
He even protects the earth from outer space wackiness on the Quake Reversal Satellite. While strumming a tune with one of his various bands.

Miles Tidal is a reluctant internet radio pioneer. He joined his co-host Bob LeMent on their internet radio ride, with little to no technical knowledge. He just thought it would be fun.
He dabbled in radio during college at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and was asked to continue his role as co-host once graduated on StaticRadio.com. His day job has no technical or internet connections, other than what any job has now a days. He just enjoys telling funny stories.

C Peter Clough started in audio media, via an 8-track and cassette tape sneaker-net operation back in the days of zines and no internet.
His professional experience took him to radio and then onto the internet with his audio creations. Life got in the way and he needed to earn a living, but was lucky enough to land jobs in the earliest online marketing gigs of the day.

1:11:38 – PriorCaster, by Bob LeMent of Static Radio and Morning Commute, seeks to document the people who were the pioneers of audio on the internet.
Scott Baker jumped into the world of internet audio right out of college and paid his dues at VStream digitizing content, both audio and video. He clawed his way up the ranks and hopped companies to be a producer for Boston.com at the advent of internet audiovisual content.
You can hear him now via his latest adventure in online audio at artcrime.blog where he delves deep into a little known area of the crime genre, where artistic talent meets the underworld.

46:17 – Welcome a new show by Bob LeMent of Static Radio and Morning Commute. PriorCaster seeks to document the people who were the pioneers of audio on the internet.
Our first PriorCaster is Frank Edward Nora. I have been in contact with Frank for over 20 years. He has been creating audio since a child and took to the new world of digital audio as soon as he could back in 1997 with his first foray, Blufftoons.
Check out all his creations bridging the 20th and 21st centuries at his website theovernightscape.com. Be swept into a world that expands from childhood dabbling into mind expanding monologues delivered on the bustling streets of New York City. With over 1800 shows and counting, it is a cornucopia of audio from a one of a kind perspective.
