The Brian Jude Show #64: SECOND ANNIVERSARY EPISODE – Inexplicable Overpasses (9/26/11)

40:31 – Recorded September 25, 2011.

It’s been two years since I started my “rampling,” and I’m ready to start Year Three!

I’ve been exceptionally busy lately, working a lot at my acting gig at Kaplan, video shoots, parades, substitute teaching and officiating weddings. Here I drive down the New Jersey Turnpike on my way to a wedding, where I have noticed a major-scale construction project, which includes about 7 overpasses that don’t seem to lead to anything – mostly into woods and housing developments, with no road at either end. I worked in my son’s school, my wife went back to work. Crazy things have been happening lately – my son lost his hearing aid, my iPod went on the fritz, the car battery died… almost like Mercury Retrograde, or is it because my energy is off from being so exhausted? Long time Friends of ONSUG Brandon General and JB Reed have a brand new music project – The Human Orchestra – listen to 5 of their tracks from their upcoming EP due out soon! Includes the track, “On With The Show,” courtesy of Brandon General.

The Midnight Citizen 36 — “The Final Girl Theory”

1:14:43 — After a month’s absence, I get on back to the microphone for another landmark episode.  Actually, this is a show that was supposed to be posted weeks ago, just after Birmingham’s Sidewalk Film Festival in late August, but due to a slew of technical problems (no procrastination for once, I promise), it’s just going up now.  It’s still cool and relevant, though, I swear!

On this episode, I’ve got an interview with Mark Trammell, pop culture and entertainment editor for UAB’s Kaleidoscope newspaper, who gives the most extensive review you’ll hear of the grassroots Sidewalk Film Festival.  I talk with Mark about why Sidewalk matters in the film festival scene, and get a breakdown of all the independent flicks that played at this year’s event that you need to see.  Tell your girlfriend, tell your parents — truly something for everybody!
