Overnightscape Central – Simulation, Speculation & Revelation (5/10/25)

2:48:03 – Dave in Kentucky reviews the 1973 West German TV miniseries World on a Wire and the 1999 American movie The Thirteenth Floor, as well as the 1964 novel on which they were both based, Simulacron-3 (a.k.a. Counterfeit World), after which he is joined by his wife Luna in Kentucky (at 28:30) for her comments on the Chinese edition of Simulacron-3, followed immediately by a pertinent A.I. song Dave generated using Suno.ai, after which he is joined by Eddie Murray (at 37:40), Chad Bowers (at 1:20:24) and Frank Edward Nora (at 1:53:52) for their various and sundry views on simulation, speculation and revelation.

Next month’s topics: The Scientific, the Unscientific and the Pseudoscientific. Record about one, two or all three of these and send audio files or links to DaveKY at mail.com by the deadline: 6pm Central Time on June 10, 2025.

Show art: Automat (1927) by Edward Hopper (1882-1967) depicts a sneaky time traveler listening to the Overnightscape Central in an automat while cleverly concealing her air buds with her hat brim.

Opening theme: “It’s Central Time Again” (2024) by Dave in Kentucky and Suno.ai (v3.5). Featured song (and surprise coda): “Nick the Revelator” (2025) by Dave in Kentucky and Suno.ai (v4). Closing theme: “Noise Rebellion” (2024) by Eddie Murray and Suno.ai (v3).
