PriorCaster – The Paunch Stevenson Show (12/11/25)

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is prior_caster_300.jpg

1:20:55PriorCaster, by Bob LeMent of Static Radio and Morning Commute, seeks to document the people who were the pioneers of audio on the internet.

The Paunch Stevenson Show was born from two friends having fun recording silly bits that they dreamed up onto an old boom box. Rob and Greg, two lifelong friends from New Jersey had been doing these things their whole lives, and then they got inspiration.

That inspiration came in the form of a friend and confusion. Who could remember the guys from CHiPs names, let alone their characters, and with the connection to Frank Edward Nora and a love of old television, the Paunch Stevenson show was launched.

In 2005 the world was a different place, technology was not the easy point and click world we have today, but Greg and Rob had a vision, a drive, a reason to spoof everything in their nostalgia filled minds. The 1980’s had been a huge stack of firewood for them and now it was time to burn a bit of that off and the fire pit of choice became the Paunch Stevenson Show.

So after you take in their historic story here, swing by and dive into the 80s and 90s soaked nostalgia of the show that they have been producing for 20 years.

Doc Sleaze: That Elusive Christmas Spirit (12/23/25)

52:27 – It’s one hundred and out for Doc Sleaze as this incarnation of the show draws to a close. But we’re going out with an edition packed full of festive fun as the Doc searches for that elusive spirit of the season, investigates whether Santa is about to be banned from the US and gets generally curmudgeonly. Plus, controversial director Henry Jagoff discusses his latest films, ‘Black Santa’ and ‘Kick Ass Jesus’, while various celebrities bring us Christmas greetings. Also, barking mad pulp movies discussed and a strange reminiscence about a weird Christmas custom. Includes:

Christmas with Father Coughlin (December 1938)

2:48:24 – Three listener-recorded airchecks from December 1938, recorded off the air from WHBI (Hoyt Brothers Incorporated) in Newark, New Jersey, 1250 on the AM dial. By this time, Father Coughlin’s radio program, at one point a weekly live broadcast on CBS, had been reduced to purchasing airtime on individual stations.

Note that the show art is not the image of the actual Father Charles E. Coughlin, but is rather an AI image generated at freegen.app and subsequently altered and modified by Dave in Kentucky using Paint.

Doc Sleaze: Garbage In, Garbage Out (9/12/25)

52:28 – Doc Sleaze demonstrates the truth of the old tech adage ‘Garbage in, Garbage Out’ with this broadcast. We ask, is the Anti-Christ near, or is he already here and senile? Are you on the ‘Hate Express’ and think that even modern psychos are too ‘politically correct’? All these questions might be answered. Or they might not. Plus, breaking news, B-movies and a strange reminiscence about a lost Dr Who Story. Includes:

Alfred Ballcock Presents ¦ Anti Christ or Just a Deluded Old Man? ¦ Random Movie Trailer (in German) – ‘The Two Missionaries’ (1974) ¦ Thought For the Day ¦ Garbage In, Garbage Out ¦ Excommunication of the Daleks ¦ Black Marketing ¦ Forgotten Film – ‘Daughter of Dr Jekyll’ (inc trailer) ¦ Action News – The PTSD Defence ¦ Hate Express ¦ Science Fiction Insight – Has Dr Who Gone Too Gay? ¦ A Little Bit of Racism Goes a Long Way ¦ Alfred Ballcock Presents (Conclusion)

Onsug Radio Shuffle Mode Special (12/8/25)

4:04:30 – It’s a special edition experiment! Instead of the usual 22 clips, this time we’re doing 70, without the computer voice introducing each clip. Also, the audio is a lo-fi mono, similar to old AM radio, which stimulates the mind differently. I listened to the whole four hours, and it’s quite a trip!

Onsug Radio Shuffle Mode #11 (12/6/25)

1:13:38 – Continuing the experiment of random Onsug listening! Taken from the complete Onsug archive of nearly 16,000 hours, here are 22 random 3.5 minute clips! Somehow, there’s one repeat clip from last episode, which seems incredibly unlikely, but is still within the realm of possibility. Also, there’s an unbelievable synchronicity, from my most recent episode of The Overnightscape.
