The Shambleshow #80: DMV (2/2/13)

1:13:33 – Taking a trip to the DMV, Pepsi tastes terrible to me now, Dr. Oz’s findings about orange soda, avoiding negative vibes, could have renewed license online, Caroline, inconvenient parking lot, recording from my coat pocket, two documents with my current address, more inconvenient parking lot, traffic school, update on my 100 books/year challenge, Ed McMahon laughed a lot, losing a Wii game we borrowed from the library, the Lumineers, Squeeze Box and cop cars, 1974, Jackie tells me about Groundhog Day, grumpy lady at McDonald’s, babies trying to grab Jackie’s Nintendo DS, the aborted Kilroy short story, cigarette butt, I mistake Mariska Hargitay for Marg Helgenberger, Law and Order episode about pregnant teens, duplicate Big Bang Theory box sets, Sheldon and Amy dating, the way Leonard talks, Sheldon has no deal, Mr. Humphries on Are You Being Served?, Grace and Favour, Sheldon/Penny shipping, Howard went into space, Raj’s selective mutism, Leslie Winkle, my original idea of The Big Bang Theory before I ever saw it, I might just ignore Dr. Oz’s findings. Recorded 2/1/13. Opening theme song: Simple Pleasures (Henry Homesweet, Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0 England & Wales). Closing theme taken from Street Piano Medley (August Molinari, Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike, 1907).

  1. Enjoyed this episode a lot – reinforcing the reason we should all check for requirements before attempting to renew at DMV. Was amazed that you complained about 30 minutes, don’t think I’ve ever been through within 2 hours and I don’t even drive, just get the non-operator’s ID.

Have you heard of No Big Bang Theory yet but they have some TV shows. If you do rip the audio, I hope you’ll share. I haven’t been keeping up with the new season but I love catching the syndicated episodes.

Sunkist has caffeine, and yes, we should all ignore Dr. Oz.

Oh, and my favorite short book is ‘Last Night at the Lobster’ by Stewart O’Nan – I hope you’ll check it out.
