Across the Pond – Episode 54 (2/15/14)

1:32:37 – Here is the long awaited show at last. Been away for quite a while but really enjoyed doing this after such a long break. Hope you enjoy my opinionated views on life.

  1. re: Michael Jackson’s doc – the dosages and drugs the man was dispensing are so insanely criminal that I am amazed the man isnt rotting in prison, forever. No ‘healer’ would ever consider such ‘medical practice’.

  2. Probably right but he was never questioned by anyone around Jackson…even Jackson himself ? Also who was responsible for hiring this guy and surely the treatment of Jackson was discussed with other people. I talk about taking responsibility for your own actions somewhere in the show and to be honest “the king of pop”should have. Thanks for listening,we are never going to agree on everything.

  3. A doctor who doses someone with a drug that ‘simulates sleep’ but doesnt provide the actual rest associated with it, for months, is a murderer, in my book. it doesnt matter if MJ begged for the drug – a doctor takes an oath, as a healer, and it is apparent to anyone that this man lapsed both in morality and ethics. It doesnt matter who hired him. It is pretty obvous that MJ was a drug addict and any ethical doctor would have insisted on treating the addiction and not simply taken the $ and continued to dispense. By your logic, doctors should give junkies heroin and not be held accountable when they die from it.

  4. They do in our country, addicts get the drugs they need from clinics and walk away and are found dead on a regular basis.I agree he was a murderer and should still be inside but there are other people involved in all this that are as guilty as the doctor and have got away free. This whole thing is a shady business involving huge amounts of money at the time for him to get himself ready to perform a ridiculous number of shows.A lot of people were set to make it rich off this and you can’t tell me that doctor did not confide in others that this was not good for him….i say again i agree he was guilty but others were in the know also. You would never have an asset like Jackson left to one guy.

  5. Actually, in the UK the only drugs clinics hand out to addicts under treatment is the heroin substitute methadone, which is only prescribed in very restricted quantities and usually has to be administered under supervision at the clinic. Whilst it is true that it is possible to OD on methadone and some addicts do sell their methadone to other addicts, these cases are relatively rare. It is true that, unlike their US counterparts, UK doctors can prescribe pharmaceutical diamorphin (heroin by any other name), its use is highly restricted and confined to use as extreme pain relief for patients suffering from terminal cancer.

(If you are wondering, no, I don’t have first hand experience of opiate abuse, but my sister is a chemist and works in the pharmaceutical industry and my niece was once a police officer attached to her force’s drugs squad, so I know a little bit about the subject).

  6. I have no disagreement that the entire Jackson Family and entourage are reprehensible human beings on more levels than most reprehensible humans, especially the Father, but the whole crew seems to have willingly and happily thrown MJ under the train in hopes that they could push him through ‘one more tour’.

  8. Maybe not Illuminati but old micko was involved with some big dudes it is a different culture up there than what we’re used to. This kind if thing goes on all the time, but there would have been many to profit from this so dr.murray may have been promised a hell of a lot more by others like Sony or whoever MJ may have been threatening to publicise on his world wide tour. Someone had to put a stop to it, I don’t think it’s Aukums razor here.. It rarely is.
