  1. Frank,

Seriously, man, I think my prediction is coming true. You’re producing more content now that you have decided to “scale back.” ;^)

Also, there is no difference, at least from what I can tell, between what you’re doing and The Rampler, other than the name.

I think The Rampler, from what I can observe, conceptually brought you onto a bigger audience. It was easy branding for you. A simple name that had a nice catchy ring. Suddenly you were The Rampler – had some intriguing quality to your show and you as a host.

IMHO, I think you should go back to The Rampler as it was, otherwise I think you’ll be screwing over your past self, forcing him to go through that time loop over and over again. (Then again, your past self probably deserves it for all the times he’s screwed over your future self.)

That’s my nickel (because the money changers made two cents worth too little). But you gotta do what you gotta do.

I’ll try tune in to WFMU tonight, for a little while at least. Hear ya then!

    Cheers,
    Brian

  2. When I decided to call the WFMU show “The Rampler”, it made sense to me… it would be the same show, only on a different system. However, as these things go, it developed into a similar, though somewhat different show. So then I had two shows called “The Rampler”… which were no longer in “synergy”, but rather, a kind of disharmony. Like when you play the 2 notes on the piano right next to each other.

So really, my intention on making these changes on the Internet side of things was to bring this stuff conceptually and practically far enough away from the radio show to eliminate the dissonance. Additionally, it does seem that the radio show would be enough. 4 hours a week of content. That should be it.

But I decided to keep ONSUG open, in case I felt like recording, and as a place to put any audio I want. So this is what I did. But recently I guess I have felt like recording 2 hours a day, so that’s what I’ve been doing… but the original intention was that ONSUG might only have sporadic releases.

New WFMU schedule in less than 2 weeks. I may or may not be on it (as if the case with all DJs – nothing is guaranteed).

  3. Talking about synchronicity, the other day I was listening to what was either an Onsug recording or an older Rampler while I was in my kitchen, tearing half a watermelon into smaller chunks, and at the same time you uttered the word “tearing”. Then two days later, I did the same thing with the other half of the watermelon and a completely different recording, and right as I was doing that, you said the word “ripping”. What’s going on?!

  4. Well, like I said, you gotta do what you gotta do. And no matter what you do, we’ll keep on listening!

Putting positive energy out there to keep you at WFMU – maybe in a better time slot for you too! ;^)
