  1. The auteur theory, which was derived largely from Astruc’s elucidation of the concept of caméra-stylo (“camera-pen”), holds that the director, who oversees all audio and visual elements of the motion picture, is more to be considered the “author” of the movie than is the writer of the screenplay.

    Now, Jimbo

What would inspire a young man to go see Pippi Longstocking at a drive-in?
Followup: You have unique tastes for make-out movies.

As I recall, I was invited to go see Pippi Longstocking by a neighbor kid… I couldn’t heave been more than 6 or 7? BTW, I looked it up and it was a West German film. *I KNEW this at that age* Someone should kiss me or give me a gift card or something.

  3. I will never forget the eye singeing horror of that moment in the Color Purple where Oprah takes a squat and unleashes a Clydesdale gusher of a piss. Strong, Strong woman.

  4. I’m pretty sure Oprah or Whoopi get raped by Stedman or Bill Cosby or somebody in that film too, but I could be wrong. It was a while ago.
