  1. If one or one’s family member has a pre-existing condition, you become a slave to the system and in many states have no choice but to find employment with someone offering a group plan. This indentured servitude competes with the notion that Americans pride themselves on promoting small business and traps many people.
    I know that New Jersey is unusual and It is my understanding that people in NJ take advantage of a unique situation where many people effectively only purchase insurance after they need it, but this is not the case in the vast majority of states.
