  1. You mentioned Thurber; he and Paul Rhymer (creator of “Vic and Sade”) are often compared.

    I can’t imagine an end-all/be-all Zappa documentary. Would last weeks, wouldn’t it?

  2. Rhymer certainly is in the same class, he’s about as absurdist as it comes. Which, for me, makes him one of the greats.

    Going to be quite the documentary, he’s already captured Gail(Frank’s wife) before she passed away and has a huge amount of resources to wade through. I spent 3 hours sitting in on one of their Backers meetings on Friday night and it was amazing. All the little unknown clips and projects lurking down there in the vault. Did you know he was working on a possible score for David Cronnenberg’s “The Fly”? They played 4 clips. Fabulous.
