  1. I know I had the e-mail address winterm@calweb.com as early as 1989. It was the Internet. I can’t seem to find proof of the existence of the world wide web at that time, but I have memories of looking up similar things though other programs via a Linux shell account. And I definitely remember checking out new software that let me look at web sites in the later part of 1990.

Before the first Pentium computer and Windows 95, it was all much like walking through mud, so people without the dedication of a total nerd couldn’t be bothered to mess with it.

  2. Salvage One, I remember watching that show, I thought it was really neat at the time. The thing that stands out most for me is some old gas pump that they had where you had to hand pump the gas into this glass container then let gravity fill the gas tank. They had some cacamammy way of getting more oil from oil wells by throwing dynamite down the oil well shaft. So the whole episode was exploding oil wells. Anyhow that is what I remember, oh and that they were building a spaceship. I think in the later episodes they actually went into space. Kinda of like Astronaut Farmer but from the very late 70’s.
