Vending machines are like apartments for various items. Each apartment number is linked electrically to a button on the front panel. When you insert the credits the machine thinks about all of this for a little while. It is brief for you, but for the machine it is thousands of cycles. It is an interesting time during which time the items fate has yet to be decided. Your selection has not fully been selected even in your own mind. For a brief period you are thinking of what you will select and the machine is thinking about whether or not it will let you select something. It is a very special moment between man and machine, take away your clothing and the machines branding and you have two naked souls considering each others existence. When you push the buttons you create the new timeline. Perhaps you will get a Twix or a pack of Chips, but whatever you get, you will both never be the same again.
