hi res pics of my copy of the the AKPC script

Manny’s video of the press conference

PNCGOMEZ video analysis of the audio

(I love all the theories about me in these videos, but really, they are all false. I was very straightforward and honest about everything. I had no part in creating this “press conference” other than agreeing to host it, which I did to the best of my ability.)

  2. this is bullshit. you weren’t even there.

  3. Wow, I cant begin to say how bizarre this is.

    Comment by Spooky — November 9, 2008 @ 6:22 pm

  4. I know for sure they were there at the Hotel, dropped Frank off myself there the night before.

    Comment by roel247 — November 9, 2008 @ 6:29 pm

  5. I’m actually somewhat disappointed… I was under the impression that “Stephen Maddox” would actually reveal himself. Seems like he wasted everyone’s time.

    Comment by Steve — November 9, 2008 @ 11:27 pm

  6. I expected at least some sort of more direct interaction. I mean, Frank interviews him first on the phone, and he seems to want to reveal a great deal of information there, you’d think the next step, in person, would be to reveal more, not put on a puppet show.

    But whatever.

And Frank being behind this as some sort of commercial for Twitter? PUH-LEEEEZE! Though maybe Frank ought to talk to them and get a sponsorship for the show… ;^) I’m sorry, though, Jennifer Kohlhepp missed out on something here. She didn’t even want to read the script. Why bother showing up if you’re going to be THAT negative about it, not participate in it and walk in expecting your time to be wasted? Plenty of other people who were just as skeptical would have loved to have been there and would have just enjoyed the experience for what it was, regardless of what it was.

  7. I wasn’t sure if he would or not, but

Andy Kaufman lives. I guess that’s all I need to know for now. If he’s trying to sell action figures, he needs a hook. Everybody will want one when he finally reveals himself…as the antichrist! lol I thought it was very Andy, from what I heard. It was everything to everybody but mostly, it was a head game that you fell for if you’re reading these early “reports.”

Good show! Just a little agit for the never-believer is how it looks from here. 😉

  8. That bia-tch is just the kinda gal Andy would wrestle

    Comment by CEC — November 10, 2008 @ 3:50 pm

  9. I thought that Andy MIGHT be there. I thought that he MIGHT reveal himself. What ended up happening was a deception in my opinion and it is an insult, NOT a tribute to the legions of fans that Andy UNLIKE THIS IMPOSTER, EARNED. This hoaxer is a parasite leaching off of the career and fan base of a genius, desperately trying to gain some semblance of fame for himself. Those involved should be held accountable for this travesty.

  10. i didn’t want to go in and be the critic and the dissenter. the situation simply warranted that. the people involved wouldn’t show their faces or converse or interact with us. they only communicated via trivial pastiche. the whole presentation was lame. is that what we all should have expected in the wonderful and magical world of Andy Kaufman? i would have been more into it had i got the slightest inkling they were honestly trying to entertain us. however, those behind puzzlementary and andykaufmanlives.com made themselves out to be a bunch of inartistic idiots who are just trying to gain fame on the coattails of Andy. i had to criticize the whole event as it transpired, mainly because i kept thinking about this awesome dream with andy in it that i had the night before. we were playing frisbee with large pitas (i have no idea why, but he was really good at it, throwing stacks of two or three at a time) in this tremendous open field and the sun was shining and i told him that the reason i love him so much is because he makes me feel like i’m a part of something greater than myself. the press conference did not make me feel like that. it just made me feel like we were all being played for some internet buffoonery. sorry i was so questioning of everyone involved. i really should have just started wrestling people instead of bitching so much. we all should have done our part in making the whole experience more of a happening than it was. frank really was a sweetheart. stay tuned in to him.

  11. go check out arion, jenn. http://myspace.com/arionentertainment

    Comment by Kat — November 10, 2008 @ 7:07 pm

  12. I’m confused. Was the poetry really Andy Kaufman’s or just something these people wrote? Jenn seemed very familiar with Andy’s art when I heard her on the Rampler. Surely she knows if it was Andy’s or not. Maybe that is why she refused to read it. Maybe she Knows Andy has no books of poetry or something.

    Comment by Jung Wombats — November 10, 2008 @ 7:58 pm

  13. I have to say, that on the surface this Press Conference holds alot of possiblities, but once you flip through and browse you quickly realize that Maddox is (just as Jen said) an a talentless, internet buffoon. Like Pallindrome I agree he’s trying to ride the coatails of a great artist and genius…unfortunately using less then unoriginal means to do so. His point was proven long ago…”I am not Andy Kaufman, but I will see how many fools believe me”
I do appaud those who were involved in bringing this to us…even though we already knew what to expect.

  14. Bryce, I think you’re a little confused about whose website you’re at, or who “You” is, in your comment above!

    Comment by Neal Ireland — November 10, 2008 @ 10:26 pm

  15. A very weird audio experience, would have been interesting to be there. I got sick of that woman complaining the whole time, what the hell did she expect?

    Comment by Andrew — November 11, 2008 @ 6:04 am

  16. @jenn (to use a Twitter tool)….

A press conference isn’t supposed to “entertain” the press. If you go to press conferences expecting to be entertained, I hope you’re doing something further for your pay cheque. Otherwise I want a bonus next time I sit in and watch “Family Guy”!

    Comment by Neal Ireland — November 11, 2008 @ 1:02 pm

  17. I assume he means he showed his face with the action figures.

    Comment by Jung Wombats — November 14, 2008 @ 8:19 am

  18. You weren’t part of the play?! Then why the fuck didn’t you go up to the masked players and pull their masks off?! What a joke and a sincerely sad hoax.

    Regards,

    Ared Kared.

    Comment by Life Man — November 18, 2008 @ 7:53 am

  19. Life Man, I think it would have been kind of rude to start to assault the people running the press conference.

    Comment by Frank — November 18, 2008 @ 9:22 am

  20. “why the fuck didn’t you go up to the masked players and pull their masks off?!”

    To Ared Kared,
would a person rather be the guy that revealed Andy Kaufman or Andy Kaufman’s life long friend? To me, the answer to that question answers your question.

    Comment by Jung Wombats — November 19, 2008 @ 5:46 pm

  21. This whole thing continues to be absolute garbage… The good part is that the more this grotesque farce continues, the more the identity of this sad excuse of a human being behind it is exposed. I’m not surprised, I saw the signs of his desperate need for attention early on… and I immediately sensed that Andy’s intelligence and passion wouldn’t be getting a kick out of doing the 4th rate ambulatory circus that I was witnessing. Isn’t it great that Andy’s soul can still pull off making a complete nincompoop out of an impostor… I mean, are you kidding?! If you’re smart you don’t mess with Andy Kaufman !! He’ll play you, expose you and then REALLY bury you… (just as he’s done with this genius) proving once again that not only he’s more alive than ever… but that the master of the “real illusion” is always him.

    Comment by Julian — March 17, 2009 @ 5:06 am

  22. What total garbage and an insult to the memory of Andy Kaufman

I’d write more – and vehemently so – but I’ve wasted enough minutes of my life on this – byyyeeee

    Comment by Julian (Another one) — April 22, 2009 @ 7:52 am

  23. i still think andy kaufman is alive because he never had an autopsy, it even says on his death certificate. his doctor signed off that he didn’t have one!!
