Interesting that they always refer to the proto-Yankees as the “Hilltops” even though their official name was the Highlanders. They did play at Hilltop Park, though.
The Atlanta team that was mentioned several times was apparently the Southern Association’s Atlanta Crackers. Since this is pre-season, a major-league team playing a minor-league team wasn’t and isn’t unusual.
