13:26 – Suno recently scrapped all their old versions, including v4.5, the one I had been using. The current model, v6, was trained from scratch using only licensed music, and I’m rather impressed by the results. Here’s a sample of what I’ve been able to do with v6-mini, the current free version. It’s the first four songs from the fourth and final installment of Dashiell Hammett’s Poisonville, the next episode of my Killer Serials series here on the Onsug.
Background: A private detective is shacked up with his female informant. She’s afraid someone’s going to kill her; he’s afraid he’s going “blood simple” due to the amount of killing he’s either done or provoked lately. He tries to escape into a gin bottle, and when that proves insufficient, she mixes him a gin-and-laudanum cocktail or two. Not surprisingly, he passes out. When he awakes, he finds her dead with an icepick embedded in her chest. Instead of raising the alarm, he proceeds to remove all trace of his having been there, wiping away his own fingerprints as well as everyone else’s. Upon leaving, he arranges an alibi for himself. Oddly enough, when the police discover the body, the icepick is nowhere to be found.
