Just finished listening to this mammoth edition. First up, congratulations Grandpa! Second up, fantastic stuff – the Bristol Radical History stuff was fascinating. Not least because, many, many years ago i was a student in Bristol and actually knew Easton, where the speaker lived, pretty well. In fact, an old friend from those days still lived there until recently. The whole ‘history from below’ stuff is a growing movement, as it is more generally accepted that history isn’t monolithic and is open to varying interpretations. Indeed, an acquiantance of mine – we used to work in the same building and still drink in the same pub – had a book about a ‘forgotten’ piece of local history involving Victorian pro-alcohol riots published last year. Anyway, I’ve rambled on enough! Suffice to say that this episode got me a bit excited!

Congrats gramps!
This was a fascinating episode. I was hooked with the collegiate harmony Hawaiian stuff from the get go – beautiful tune. The speaker from Bristol was very interesting. I couldn’t help but feel that his message pertains to certain aspects of the onsug project. Very thought provoking and inspiring, indeed. Thanks as always, PQ.
