Anytown, USA (4/16/13)

1:11:24 – Sound collage of clips from many episodes of various American old-time radio comedies, arranged in random, haphazard, often repetitive fashion, then scrambled up again and again just for good measure. I did not listen to any of the clips (or even the episodes they came from) beforehand, so the resulting collage is as much a surprise to me as it is to you. Compiled 3/25/13.

The Shambleshow #90: Fiery Furnaces (4/14/13)

1:56:38 – Book and song by The Guess Who, refill of Citalopram, lady by the dumpster, your chemical makeup keeps changing, very obvious advice for parents, the Fiery Furnaces, ice cream truck, White Stripes mix that a friend made for me, contemporary bands I like/don’t like, aol radio, harder to become attached to an album of music nowadays, park ambiance, my cell phone shuts itself off, Melissa McCarthy on SNL, what the Fiery Furnaces sound like, driving through campus, middle age, guitar man, my first semester at Illinois State, rumors of hail were unfounded, Healthpoint, the masochistic experience of throwing a kid’s birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese, the AT&T store, Identity Thief, no no no!!!!, I just bought an iPhone, some idiot quoted in Us Weekly about women being submissive, onsug.com, my hypocrisy regarding e-books, trying to play audio on the iPhone, She’s Come Undone by Wally Lamb, incomplete Tapestry episode, Jackie lost her hat, Chuck E. Cheese is loud, spontaneous decision to buy my wife a book, famous people who died recently, only one surviving member of the Are You Being Served? cast, memorable quotes from Father Ted, ranch McWrap with grilled chicken, lost my ringtone of Africa by Toto, Shambleshows in varying stages of completion, McD’s employee staggering back and forth, weird phone calls at work, annoying repeated calls for a former co-worker, this is not a family show, that was kinda fun.
