Schlock Express: Italian Style! (8/15/18)

33:28 – The Schlock Express goes on a continental summer excursion to take in the sights of classic Italian exploitation movies.  Watch as beautiful women are urged to Strip Nude for Your Killer in possibly the sleaziest Giallo ever made, while the Doc muses on the sexual politics of seventies slasher movies.  Rogue cops, meanwhile, Live Like a Cop, Die Like a Man as the ‘polizioteschi’ genre goes psycho.  Finally, The Wild Beasts, the bastard mutant offspring of the Mondo movie and, well, God knows what, sees drugged up zoo animals invade the streets of Frankfurt in some of the most irresponsible film making in the history of exploitation!

DS8: Shooting Wars (7/7/18)

32:59: The world of war movies examined, anachronistic equipment fighting on both sides and shooting conventions.  New movies from old!  The use of ‘cut and paste’ techniques explored – watch Tobruk become Raid on Rommel and 633 Squadron transform into Mosquito Squadron.  Republic serials and TV shows using second hand footage.  Italian war movies and recycled props and footage.  Strategic support provided by Tobruk (1967), Raid on Rommel (1971), Mosquito Squadron (1969) and Eagles Over London (1969).

DS7: Taking Back the Streets (From the Street Entertainers) (6/29/18)

33:15 – Desperate to put out a new episode, Doc Sleaze raids his blog for some recent musings on pop culture.  Pausing only for an altercation with a living statue, our fearless host ponders the problems of the rogue paperwork generated by maverick cops before dissecting so called ‘must see TV’ and posing the question of whether Netflix is the true descendent of Universal Pictures B Movie unit?  Finally, having declared that modern pop culture is rubbish, we explore some unpopular opinions on supposed pop culture classics.  Guest appearances from Clint Eastwood, Boris Karloff, John Carradine and Lon Chaney Jr.

Schlock Express: Mondo Soho (1/8/18)

Mondo Soho

37:00 The Schlock Express is back on the rails, taking a look at London’s Soho in the sixties through a Mondo lens, courtesy of three classic ‘shockumentaries’. First stop is a trek through the ‘West End Jungle’ and its clip joints, photography ‘clubs’ and escort agencies. We also see ‘London in the Raw’, with its vista of East End pubs, West End clubs, meths drinkers, drug addicts, cat food eating beatniks and hair transplants. Finally, we confront ‘Primitive London’ and its tribes of mods, rockers and beatniks, horrible murders and factory farming.

Hastily recorded and shoddily edited, it can only be obe thing, an all new Halloween edition of The Sleazecast, exclusive to the Overnightscape Underground.  (Nobody else would have us).  All the favourites are back: Suzy Sleaze gives us the news on the ‘Hijab Halloween’,’Alarmist News’ is back to try and raise Jimmy Savile from the dead and Sherlock Holmes finally gets to part three of ‘The Whips of Fear’.  Plus, ‘Ghost Radio’ interviews the author of ‘I Married a Poltergeist’ and probes the world of singles seances.  Boris Karloff makes a guest appearance and Britain’s fastest milkman gets a Gothic makeover.
