Iteration (1/17/18)

30:57 – Sound collage for your enjoyment, or at least tolerance. Random bits and pieces from a field recording at a local park event back in 2013, the most recent Tapestry episode, and the Highway 209 – Florida track from Onsug Radio provided the sounds for this one – sliced, diced, and pureed into the final product you will find here.

Tape Land 40 – Assignment: Mystery Box! (1994)

5:14 – Welcome to Tape Land! On each episode, I will be presenting the audio of a cassette tape from my collection. It’s a way to help motivate me to digitize more of my archives.

“Assignment: Mystery Box!” was a feature I created for my 1990s ezine, OsoaWeek. The idea was I would give my friend Peter a mystery box, and he would open it and give his initial reaction to it. Then there were a series of challenges of things to do with the item. The feature was cancelled after 2 appearances.

Assignment: Mystery Box! #1 – Polly Pocket Pretty Pandas
July 19, 1994 – opening the box
July 20, 1994 – experiences with the item

Assignment: Mystery Box! #2 – New Kids on the Block cards
August 8, 1994 – opening the box
August ?, 1994 – experiences with the item
