Falling Cow Compendium: Travel On (3/24/18)

34:16 – Peg-Leg Pedro is a completely different experience in pure audio, visualizing through the mind’s eye, from what it is with the full visuals. Kind of trippy actually.

Tape Land 49 – Anything But Monday – Third Show (3/3/86)

14:28 – Welcome to Tape Land! On each episode, I will be presenting the audio of a cassette tape from my collection. It’s a way to help motivate me to digitize more of my archives.

Here’s more of my college radio show, Anything but Monday, with co-host Mad Mike. This is Side 2 of the tape of our first show (see last week’s Tape Land). It starts off with a pre-recorded bit we did, “The Shadow Traffic” (a parody of the Shadow Traffic reports heard on the old Howard Stern Show on WNBC). Then there’s some production work on “Go Away”, featuring alternate dialogue. At the beginning, you can hear a news report about the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster in the background.

After this, it’s the first part of our third show, from March 3, 1986. This is verified, as we say the date on the tape. The rest of the show has already been released, as the first part of Tape Land 6. I had suspected it was from 3/3/86, but some context on the first part confirms it.
