Vic and Sadecast 032 – Uncirculated 1983 Bill Idelson Interview (9/26/17)

bill-idelson-17.8 (1:31:03) A “SPERDVAC Presents” show dealing with interviews with former child star Bill Idelson (among many other former-child stars that you will probably recognize: Eddie Firestone, Bob Hastings, Dick York).

This interview is not one in the noted “Vic and Sade” “pile” so unless you heard the radio show it’s unlikely that you have heard this particular interview. It was recorded in 1983 I believe and the original product was done by the Los Angeles OTR group known as SPERDVAC, on a show known as “SPERDVAC Presents”.  Thanks very much to John Gassman, Larry Gassman and Walden Hughes.  Special thanks to Louie Johnson.

Tape Land 24 – Weasels 90 (4/29/90)

1:30:26 – Welcome to Tape Land! On each episode, I will be presenting the audio of a cassette tape from my collection. It’s a way to help motivate me to digitize more of my archives.

It’s a Sunday afternoon in April 1990, and Frank and Peter, both in their early 20s at the time, go on a “zonal adventure” drive and record an audio letter to their friend Bryan, who is currently living in Michigan. The tape is very crude and toxic at times, and was actually never sent to Bryan, nor heard by anyone else, till today. Only a few snippets were used as part of the “Train Crap & Blood” theme song the following year.

Notes: A&P in Pluckemin, NJ, Buxton’s, negative sundae, zoning, heading northwest, the story of our previous zonal trip in Pennsylvania, I Love You to Death (1990), car crash in parking lot, Pete lost his wallet, what is Bryan doing right now, Netcong, they met Heinrich at his restaurant, how Frank and Pete met, heavy rain, factory work, scenic overlook, Fruit Juicers, Pete’s opera singing, let’s do Run-D.M.C., weirdos at another scenic overlook, Pete pays the toll, Route 209, MAC machine, Bushkill, Fernwood, sending messages back in time on billboards, Hare Krishna, The Hills, dirty copper joke, Binghamton, Yoo-hoo and V8 concoction, dinner in Allentown, turning off the zone, V8 and coffee, The Freaker, on the way home.
