A virgin brain. I still remember the first time I ever read Lovecraft. It was close to Halloween back in the mid-1980s. We were experiencing a drought. Course, 12 days without rain in Ohio was considered an official drought. I read the entire story, “Shadow over Innsmouth” sitting on top of a car outside a Halloween store as the sun went down. It is a good introduction to Lovecraft’s work. The rest of the stories might be better enjoyed through the MANY public domain audio productions of them. I will come back on tomorrow and give links to three of my favorites. Until then, definitely try to read “Shadow over Innsmouth”. All Lovecraft’s works are short and Innsmouth is short too.
