Durwood Kirby had a major connection to Vic and Sade. For one thing, he co-hosted the news show (also sponsored by Crisco) with Bernardine Flynn (she was the world’s first female on-air newscaster). Secondly, Kirby knew Paul Rhymer, who used his hometown of Covington,KY and turned into a ”Grovleman, SC”, so to speak.
