I really liked It’s Garry Shandling’s Show. I remember seeing one episode on Showtime where he did some kind of hula dance and said it was a special bonus for the Showtime viewers; then I later saw the edited FOX version where the commercials ran just before the hula bit, and then when the show came back on he said, “You FOX viewers didn’t miss a damn thing during the commercials.” The show doesn’t get enough credit today. In some areas it was just as groundbreaking as Seinfeld. IGSS didn’t just break the fourth wall; it never built one in the first place.
I never really watched Larry Sanders. I probably would have liked it though.
