Rubénerd Show 337: The skimming episode (4/11/16)

28:22 – Now that I’m thirty (GULP), a rambling episode about having my card skimmed in a taxi. Also failed burnouts, beeeeees, the Sydney housing bubble, burglaries, listener feedback (Marc and Shambles), missing an Overnightscape Central, Windows 95 nostalgia, sprinklers, and introverted office cacti.

Recorded in Sydney, Australia. Licence for this track: Creative Commons Attribution 3.0. Attribution: Ruben Schade.

Released April 2016 on Rubénerd and The Overnightscape Underground, an Internet talk radio channel focusing on a freeform monologue style, with diverse and fascinating hosts.

  1. Thank you for the introduction to the Garratt steam locomotive. What a great machine. If I took a train to space, I might start with this one. Galaxy Railways Away!
I look forward to hearing your report on the ride quality and experience. I am captivated by the idea that Argentina ordered and had constructed a new Garret in 2006.
Steam, in person it scares me senseless, but I admire the power.

  2. I was using Windows 3.11 and this ladyfriend came over and she said,”Oh, you don’t have Windows 95″? And I said, “No, I’m using Windows 3.11”. And so, I went to bed and when I woke up, I had Windows 95. Shrug.

Windows 95 had all these minor flaws but they seemed to all be fixed by all these magnificent freeware programs, all very tiny (remember stuff like Windows Shades, Windows Docking etc?)

Anyhoo, I am sitting here listening to you and you are SO EASY TO IMITATE, although I can’t do whole sentances, I can’t certainly do 2-3 words at a time. Ah, but it won’t be long.

When I was a baby, my sister was babysitting me and she accidentally dropped me off the porch into a cactus! Had to go to the horsepistol. 🙁
