I had a CD repair kit and it also worked on DVDs, etc. It worked wonderfully well and saved a lot of my media.
You not knowing Erich von Stroheim makes me believe you have never seen SUNSET BOULEVARD. It’s really, really worth a look.

Frank, great show! I have never heard you mention “The Banana Splits” or “Sigmund the Sea Monster”. Did you you watch those shows as a kid?
I always thought The Banana Splits were just TOO much. Sigmund was a different story. He definitely belonged in the HR Pufnstuff world. (I haven’t even bothered to look – it could be he was a Pufnstuff… or whatever).

I have talked about both those shows… though perhaps not as much as Pufnstuf. The Banana Splits aired a bit before my time and didn’t seem to be show in reruns that often, so I wasn’t too aware of them growing up, though I did watch a lt in recent years. Sigmund on the other hand was a huge show for me – right in my prime Saturday morning viewing time. It was not part of the Pufnstuf-verse.

In the Dallas area, they crammed the Banana SPlits down our throats for years! When I think of them, I see them driving around in those go carts and wearing red hats and ugh….

On my Comic Con show last year I mentioned these Banana Splits vehicle toys that were very expensive…

Frank, I got stuck in that Port Authority bus craziness last week, too. I agree with you- it’s weird that one car accident or disabled vehicle in the Lincoln Tunnel shuts everything down, as if it only includes a single tunnel.
And Don Rickles had a funny cameo in one of my favorite movies, Dirty Work (1998). “You have a personality like a dead moth.” haha

And the poetry book scam reminded me of the Who’s Who scam that goes on in high schools. Students receive letters in the mail saying something like “If you pay us $40, we’ll include you in our annual Who’s Who book of high school students.” It’s literally a book of people who paid money to be in the book. What’s the point??
