Big enormously large and hugely colossal gigantic thanks for the ‘love’, Jimbo. Wow. I should hire you as my publicist.
Ya know, I can’t honestly remember what the NFL paid me for the Pro Football Hall of Fame logo.
But that logo brings to mind something of an “Ah-ha!” moment for my aunt and uncle and cousins who live in Milwaukee, WI —
I went out for a visit the Summer after I created that logo—we hadn’t seen each other in quite a few years—so of course they wanted to know about what I did for a living since they always knew I was going to be an “artist”. So, I explained that I create brand identities (logos) for companies and products which meant I needed to kind of explain what ‘branding’ entails which not a lot of people really understand—as was the case here in my aunt and uncle’s den.
It just so happened that the Pro Football Hall of Fame game was on and it was the first game to showcase the new Pro Football Hall of Fame logo I had created the previous Fall I think it was. Well, as I was trying to explain what I did for a living, the broadcast zoomed in on the logo painted at mid-field so I pointed to it on their TV and said “There! I did that!”
Everyone looked at the TV, looked at me, looked back at the TV and finally my aunt says excitedly: “Oh! You painted that design on the field?”
Hahahahaha!!!
So, I explained that, no, I didn’t paint the design on the field—but rather I created the design that was painted on the field.
You could hear light bulbs going off one by one and I knew by their wide-eyed, wide-mouthed expressions that they got it. That they understood. So that was their “Ah-ah!” moment with regard to something I created – lol
Anyway, thanks again for your kind words, Jimbo. I’m very appreciative and honored to get such a mention on your show—great show by the way!
Keep the dream alive,
– J.

Was your aunt wearing one of those cheese hats??
In case anyone doesn’t know, your work can be found here: http://pollarddesign.com/
I can’t believe two celebrities: you and Frank Nora, can be found on the ONSUG. You guys might not consider yourself celebrities, but I do!

LOL — No cheese head (that I know of!), but they do love their Packers. That is for damn sure.
That same trip where I told the HOF logo story also included a trip to Green Bay, WI and the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame which was incredibly cool. We drove by Lambeau Field of course too.
Thanks for the link to my website for those who may want a little “eye candy” or maybe just to see the Pro Football Hall of Fame logo you mentioned on your show.
And, just in case anyone has 30 minutes to kill, here are links to a couple of short films I’ve done for those who want to know whether or not I suck as an actor —

The feature film I’m currently shooting is called “Star Chief” and I think will premier this Winter sometime—or at least that’s the goal. I know they’re working on the trailer as we speak since most of my scenes are already shot and in the process of being edited—I have one more scene to shoot yet and then it’ll be a wrap for me.

PS: I gotta tell ya —
I really do miss the flies that used to make an appearance on your show. “Fusebox” has the Japanese Pocket Squirrels and “Hey, Everybody! It’s Jimbo!” has house flies- lol

Nice one Jimbo. I was laughing very hard at your gun noises. I love that type of story telling and you did it well. The Turkey sandwich experience sounded delightful. One should not deny the pleasure of a great sandwich.

I should have added Jeff Pollard to my turkey sandwich, since he’s a big ham. 😉

By the way, I have no recollections of my gun shot noises or why they would make you laugh… but thanks for laughing!
