I don’t understand the prevailing attitude toward this episode, that it’s subpar. It may be my very favorite. It explores the relationship between Vic and Rush in a fascinating way, in that there are certain areas that they share a sensibility that only arises in the absence of Sade.
The rhythm of their conversation is uncanny, and punctuated as it is with the “hello”s of the passing characters, there’s a truth to this episode that makes it quite special. A subtle masterpiece.
