I second that. Is your family related to the guitarist Alex Skolnick, by any chance? I know it’s a slightly different spelling, but that happens sometimes.
On the Christmas Story Live thing, I think my reaction can be summed up by the (possibly apocryphal) rejection letter a writer once received: “Dear Sir, Your story is both original and good. Unfortunately, the parts that are good are not original, and the parts that are original are not good.”
