  1. Well, I don’t think this Jaz thing is quite working for me, so Radio Free Shambles #191 is in the process of being recorded. I tried this, decided to go back to that.

  2. I enjoyed it, fwiw. Sometimes a more compact form can be more effective than the longer 30 min plus shows we tend toward on Onsug. I suspect that the version of ‘Genesis’ you saw was the condensed edit the BBC produced for a showing in two parts over Christmas in the late seventies. There were a series of these re-edits, including hour long versions of ‘The Brain of Morbius’, ‘Pyramids of Mars’ and (I think) ‘Robots of Death’. They tended to be shown over Bank Holiday weekends and, if you’d seen the original serial, were somewhat frustrating as whole scenes were excised and the action consequently jumped around. For a long time, however, they were the only versions the BBC re-ran.

And you definitely want to avoid full blown Type Two diabetes – it’s more easily manageable than Type One, but still a real pain. The Metformin I take to manage mine still upsets my stomach – although that, along with a radical reduction in my sugar intake has resulted in a significant and welcome weight loss!

  3. Genesis of the Daleks was always one of my very favorites!
