6:13 – Welcome to Tape Land! On each episode, I’ll present the audio of a cassette tape from my collection. It’s a way to help motivate me to digitize more of my archives.
Inspired by “The Audio Kitchen†(a show on WFMU), I spent a few years (around 2001) buying used answering machines with cassettes in them, hoping to find interesting audio for my Internet radio project, Bluffcosm. I got this tape at a flea market in Lyndhurst, NJ, on April 29, 2001. It’s short, but has some interesting stuff on it. I bleeped out phone numbers and last names.
Notes: Dinner arrangements, message for Dad, message from Mom, cracks in the concrete, slosh the paint, seating arrangements, carpet installation, shower disappointment, air conditioner, call me when you get a chance, poor guy swallowed a puzzle piece, message from Joe.
