  2. A bit confused here, Frank. I understand and total agree with your peanut butter rant. But in this same episode you’re lamenting the fact that you can’t find the latest High Fructose Corn Syrup delivery system (Mello Yello). And you openly admit that it isn’t the drink that’s compelling but the marketing of the product (Taste the Typeface!!!). Is this one of those contradictions you’re obsessed with pointing out lately?

  3. Yeah Mello Yello has a very interesting pop culture connotation and nostalgia – I can remember it from years past. It has the appeal of something obscure. And also the Donavan song and hippie-like yellowness (like Yellow Submarine). And with the new logo and availability, really brings it all together. Plus, it really does have a great taste. I had some Mountain Dew yesterday, which was absolutely disgusting.

    Yes, it is a low-quality food product, but all the factors together have made it appealing to me… though I do know that I will probably lose interest in it in a few weeks…
