The Overnightscape Underground is an Internet talk radio channel, focusing on a freeform monologue style, with diverse and fascinating hosts. Created by Frank Nora (frank@theovernightscape.com) in New Jersey, USA.
Interesting, but the audio was kinda unbalanced. When I listened in my car on the way to work I could literally not hear a word the other person said, they completely disappeared in the background noise. Hard to fix without a more complex setup that can give you a separate channel for each person I guess.
Came out ok when I re-listened on the computer (better earphones might have helped too).

Thanks, I’ve been told that before. Apparantly recording off skype is in stereo, so I would need to convert these to mono.

I really liked the call and could hear it okay, but I had headphones on. I was curious why, what inspired you to do that and did you just call a random number in the town?
Very interesting stuff, at first I was kinda put off by how uncooperative they were but after listening I really liked that fact.
Great show, keep em coming.

I came across a website that listed pay phones around the world. I had heard
of Little Diomede and checked Alaska for pay phones. There was one
at the Native Store there so I called on Skype (free). I found a program
that records off skype automatically.
It’s a lot harder to get interesting stuff out of cold calls
than I thought. I have a few more random calls, but
most of the phones are disconnected. I will do another show
when I accumulate about 30 minutes of talk.

Neat, thanks for sharing. It is interesting that with the almost elimination of long distance that people aren’t calling more or doing interesting stuff like this. Funny how that works, it is very similar to the fact that there is really easy digital recording yet I wouldn’t say there is an explosion of things being recorded.
