Frank you’re right that it would be prohibitively expensive to subscribe to 20 news papers or something but before the internet people would subscribe to 1 2 or 3 newspapers . they didn’t expect to read all the newspapers if they needed to they would buy a one-off or go to the library. What I do is subscribe online to one or two newspapers that I always want to read or that I want to support and then still get news from other sources using the workarounds. in my opinion people’s belief that they deserve the news for free has resulted in the demise of local newspapers and allows powerful interests to get away with more shit at the local level

  2. Individuals sharing the news is not the same as Facebook making money on the news Facebook is like pornhub to porn Spotify to music Uber to the labor of taxi drivers. Basically pirates that are so large people just have to submit to them which is why the newspapers go ahead and post stories themselves on Facebook.
