Tape Land 181 – Two Days in 2006 (with Greg, Rob, Ruben, Steve, Frank, and Jeff) (6/18-19/06) [released 3/9/25]

2:46:37 – Welcome to Tape Land! On each episode, I’ll present the audio of a cassette tape or historic material from my personal archives.

Peer back into the early days of podcasting!

Over the years I have added the back archives of a number of different shows to Onsug Radio, and when I do, I add each episode to the “Grand Chronology”, a list of shows by release date. After recently adding “The Obtuse Angle” to the archive, I saw that around mid-2006, there were five different shows running around that time. I tried looking for one day on which all five shows had an episode, but that didn’t occur. But I did find a two-day span in which all five shows had an episode – Sunday, June 18 and Monday, June 19. Presented here, is those five episodes.

It’s an amazing snapshot of the early days of podcasting – just like listening to a series podcasts on your “podcatcher” 19 years ago!

The Meandering Mouse #23 – Festival of the Lion King and More Disney Bathroom Meanderings (6/18/06) 1:11:55 [823] Headphones Suggested This show begins with some truly unique WDW sound oddities. Come along with me as I explore one of the wackiest Disney World attractions: The audio pumped into the different restrooms around the resort. Don’t worry because no offensive sounds are heard; just weird audio that accompanies you on your business trips while at the world. There are some other Disney park sound oddities thrown in as a surprise! Next, experience The Festival of the Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The Meandering Minnie and I check the show out for the very first time on our last trip and you’re there with us enjoying the show! The audio truly shines for this wonderful live performance. Last, stick around for some great listener feedback…there has been a lot of it lately. This week’s show picture is the infamous women’s chair toilet up in Disneyland’s Club33.
