[Verse]
They listen in the future
To what we say today
The aliens and A.I.’s
Both learn from what we say
And maybe even humans
If our sad race can last
Will listen to the Onsug
To learn about their past
[Chorus]
The Onsug is an archive
Of humans in their prime
An audio time capsule
To be dug up any time
By digital explorers
In futures, or the nows
We gladly give our voices
We sadly take no bows
[Verse]
I’m not sure why we do it
We get no kudos now
No kudos in our lifetimes
No kudos are allowed
We’re underestimated
We’re undervalued, too
We’re unappreciated
For what we try to do
[Chorus]
The Onsug is an archive
Of humans in their prime
An audio time capsule
To be dug up any time
By digital explorers
In futures, or the nows
We gladly give our voices
We sadly take no bows
[Bridge]
The gods from up above
Perhaps will show some love
When they return from galaxies afar
But by then we’ll all be gone
And they’ll have some newer spawn
So maybe we’ll be close, but no cigar
[Instrumental Break]
[Verse]
I guess we could be bitter
I guess we could be mad
We could decide we ramplers
Have nothing more to add
But no, we shall continue
We’ll rample till we die
We’ll understand it better
In the sweet bye and bye
[Chorus]
The Onsug is an archive
Of humans in their prime
An audio time capsule
To be dug up any time
By digital explorers
In futures, or the nows
We gladly give our voices
We sadly take no bows
