I have been doing the food drive for over 15 years now. The hard part is that we are delivering our route while we do it The first few years I got so much food they had to send a bigger truck to take my collection. Very rewarding feeling doing it, but many of my coworkers hate the extra work. Too bad. We dont sort the food we drop it at local food banks and churches and they sort it out. We do ours on Mothers Day saturday.
A few of the companies I deliver to have mandated their workers to take a week off without pay at Christmas time. They are not allowed to use vacation it is a company shutdown for economic purposes. Has not hit the PO yet but Obama proposed a pay freeze for all gov workers today. Not happy about that as I am a union man.
