Frank in afternoon and night in NYC and Jersey City, on a journey to WFMU and then back home… snowstorm, got on the wrong bus, taking the 5 train, World Trade Center, PATH train, Harborside Financial Center, buying cough drops and almonds, heading to WFMU, did the test show, PATH train back to NYC, snack review (“Dr. Lankin’s Awesome Almonds – Cinnamon Vanilla”), wasting money at Dave & Buster’s, and the clown bear success.

  1. Frank-I agree with you that “The Rampler” is the best name for your radio show. It’s simply a great sounding word with an interesting double meaning that both represent what you do on that show perfectly. I sent you a message on Twitter a while ago that mentioned my interest in words and language, and I have to tell you that I enjoyed your analysis of this old word today. In fact, your frequent word-play–both in sound and meaning–always amuses me and keeps me interested.
    Nothing against the title “The Overnightscape”; that is another great play on words that sounds great, but it lacks that clever double-entendre found in “The Rampler”. Plus, “The Overnightscape” seems to have a special place in your heart as well as your home, so I think it should be kept for that show.
    Keep on ramplin’ & I’ll keep listenin’.
