  2. Thanks, Frank. 🙂 I hope that timeline entanglement thing can’t really happen. What if you got entangled into a timeline where you were driving a car and another timeline where you were not? Could be disastrous: am I on the highway going 65 MPH or standing still by the side of the road? Imagine if you’re walking along and you find yourself getting into a fight/walking home safely… that would be very confusing. Automatic scorekeepers in bowling alleys would fall apart every time you threw a strike/didn’t throw a strike. It could even get to the point where people are afraid to get out of bed/not get out of bed in the morning.

  3. Regarding the 24kbps mono format. It was fine for central. But the stereo sounds of NYC in your Overnightscapes are so rich. I did a quick direct comparison of your segment on Central (where you were also walking i think) and the difference was major so I am glad you are going to keep on with that in 128 stereo.

As far as the 24kbps demanding less mental energy, I have always thought that the more gaps in information coming across, the more mental energy it would take since our brain would be trying to fill in the blanks. I am kind of inclined to think that what is special about the 24kbps and the similar AM sound is it has a more distant smaller sound that is conducive to the sense of a broadcast coming from a distant place and also is a little easier to have as background because you feel less saturated and surronded by the vibe so in that sense it is demanding less attention.
