Thanks, Frank. 🙂 I hope that timeline entanglement thing can’t really happen. What if you got entangled into a timeline where you were driving a car and another timeline where you were not? Could be disastrous: am I on the highway going 65 MPH or standing still by the side of the road? Imagine if you’re walking along and you find yourself getting into a fight/walking home safely… that would be very confusing. Automatic scorekeepers in bowling alleys would fall apart every time you threw a strike/didn’t throw a strike. It could even get to the point where people are afraid to get out of bed/not get out of bed in the morning.

Regarding the 24kbps mono format. It was fine for central. But the stereo sounds of NYC in your Overnightscapes are so rich. I did a quick direct comparison of your segment on Central (where you were also walking i think) and the difference was major so I am glad you are going to keep on with that in 128 stereo.
As far as the 24kbps demanding less mental energy, I have always thought that the more gaps in information coming across, the more mental energy it would take since our brain would be trying to fill in the blanks. I am kind of inclined to think that what is special about the 24kbps and the similar AM sound is it has a more distant smaller sound that is conducive to the sense of a broadcast coming from a distant place and also is a little easier to have as background because you feel less saturated and surronded by the vibe so in that sense it is demanding less attention.
