The Midnight Citizen 44 — “My Regular Saturday Night Thing”
Podcast: Play in new window | Download
55:25:16 — It’s been a tough couple of weeks, as you’ll hear me recount. However, I manage to stay upbeat through the crystal pure spirit of night radio, and large quantities of caffeine. Also: a new segment, “Stellar Jokes from My Failed Stand-up Comedy Career”, the deception of December, and Christmas Coke can recall.

Mike, I sympathise. My wife was in teaching college for years and these institutions seem to think nothing of telling you to put your life plans on hole for another year here and there over things like this. There’s always some problem, some red tape, or something that’s been badly organised. Hang in there.

*on hold, not “on hole”. (I dropped out of college)

9 months off is a great thing! Enjoy the theatre maybe it might take you to new adventures.

I appreciate it guys. ONSUG definitely keeps me grounded through all the tribulations my quarter life crises throw at me.

Hey Mike, sorry about the career setback. As Neal said, this seems to be a recurring problem on the university front, all the red tape and such. Just hang in there, keep pushing and you’ll get where you want to be.
In the meantime, great show! I love the talk about the stand-up comedy world… I’m kind of a comedy geek. 🙂 And sorry about the Coke. I’m a caffeine addict myself, have to have a soda in the morning to get me going.
Cheers! Looking forward to your next episode.

Oh, and could I borrow a phrase from you for an episode of Anybody’s Guess? I think The Crystal Pure Spirit of Night Radio would make an excellent episode title. I’ll give you full credit and I’ll tell people to listen to The Midnight Citizen. 🙂

Thanks Shambles! Funny, I was just listening to your episode entitled “Night” last night on my paper route. Always nice to meet another Shepsman and night person — they’re a lot harder to spot than day people. Use the phrase please, and keep your show up as well! Really been enjoying it — I’ve listened to some of your back episodes, too.
Happy Holidays to you and Annie, and your daughter as well.
